LSO Live has won many awards including a Grammy (2002), Classical Brit Awards, Gramophone Awards and numerous other international awards and prizes. It has always been a priority for LSO Live to attract a larger audience for classical music and the label would become the first classical label to make its entire catalogue available in download format.
Before the launch of their own record label, LSO Live, the London Symphony Orchestra's recordings were produced by another record company. Currently the artists and conductors are stakeholders in the releases on which they perform and LSO Live is working with some of the world’s prominent sound engineer and producers. The artists are involved during the whole production process, they can choose what should be recorded and ensure that only recordings that satisfy will be released.
Several LSO Live’s releases of Berlioz, conducted by Sir Colin Davis, have been nominated for Best Choral Performance and Berlioz’ Requiem has been awarded with the International Classical Music Award (2014) for Best Choral Work. Every recording is available in high-resolution Super Audio CD (SACD) as well as download format. The labels releases are internationally distributed and can be downloaded from various digital music services, including iTunes.
