Dvorak's Cello Concerto was performed in Prague

26 April 1929

Antonin Dvorak's 'Cello Concerto in A Major' was performed in Prague 64 years after its composition. This piece was composed for cellist Ludevit Peer and was found by composer Günter Raphael years later.



Fauré was granted the Grand-Croix of the Légion d'Honneur

Gabriel Fauré received the Grand-Croix of the Légion d'Honneur, a privilege deemed unusual for a composer at the time. He was 75 years of age and had recently retired from the Paris Conservatoire.

Premiere of Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 4

The premiere of his Niccolo Paganini's 'Violin Concerto No.4' took place in Frankfurt, Germany. He had composed it in the fall of 1829.
