Antonin Dvorak's 'Cello Concerto in A Major' was performed in Prague 64 years after its composition. This piece was composed for cellist Ludevit Peer and was found by composer Günter Raphael years later.
Gabriel Fauré received the Grand-Croix of the Légion d'Honneur, a privilege deemed unusual for a composer at the time. He was 75 years of age and had recently retired from the Paris Conservatoire.
