Overview

The name Carus stands for high standards and quality performance in vocal music. Based in Stuttgart, the label was founded in 1972 along the Carus publishing house, both with the aim of offering rare and previously unpublished works.

The label has gained the reputation over the years of having first class recordings after working with several renowned international artists, an aspect that, combined with the unique expression in their visual imagery in their designs, has helped Carus in becoming one of the largest independent labels in Germany.

Günter Graulich and his wife Waltraud have led the label since 1972, always keeping an emphasis on high quality choral repertoire, nowadays aiming for a catalogue that includes more than 26,000 works.

A fine choral selection and a unique expression in their visual imagery defines Carus, one of the largest independent labels in German territory.
