Dacapo SACD

Dacapo was founded in 1989 in Denmark and is currently based in Copenhagen. An eye-opening label showing a large variety in music, with a focus on particularly Danish music, Dacapo presents itself as the ‘Danish National Label’.

Overview

Dacapo’s catalogue consists of over 450 recordings spanning from early music to present-day compositions. The label offers their catalogue in CD but also in digital downloads in various high quality formats, such as SACD.

The broad Danish repertoire makes you forget how small Denmark really is. Dacapo is known for it high quality recordings based on Danish traditions of natural, spacious and precise sound. The label has been awarded with numerous distinctions such as the Cannes Classical Awards, Grammy nominations and several Danish music awards.

Like aforementioned, Dacapo’s repertoire contains mainly Danish music of eminent Danish composers, such as Carl Nielsen and Jorgen Jersild, and performed by accomplished Danish, European and American orchestras, choirs, ensembles and soloists. From early music, the catalogue spans all the way to the modern day electronic repertoire.
