Overview

Founded by the German music publishing house Hänssler-Verlag, the record label was born in 1975 by the hand of Friedrich Hänssler Jr, to expand repertoire of the publishing house which had been reduced to church music.

Hänssler Classic is defined as an award-winning German classical and contemporary music label, in which names such as violinist Christian Tetzlaff stand out. The label is also renowned for being one of the publishers of the classical radio station Südwestrundfunk (SWR), which has three orchestras, a choir and a Big Band, and for partnering with the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart.

Defined as an award-winning German classical and contemporary music label.
